For the Budarhals hydropower project, Voith supplied and installed two Kaplan turbines with modern environmentally friendly design and water-filled runner hubs, as well as generators with latest state-of-the-art technology using brushless thyristor controlled exciters developed by Voith. Landsvirkjun, Icelands' national power company, made an agreement with Voith to supply all machinery and electrical equipment for the Budarhals hydropower plant in April 2010. The total scope of supply for Voith includes powerhouse cranes and station control systems, in addition to the main parts of the electromechanical equipment.  “All of Voith’s ehrenpreis work in this project has been diligently completed despite harsh winter weathers and ambitious time schedule," said Gudlaugur Thorarinsson, project manager at Landsvirkjun for Budarhals. "Landsvirkjun is very satisfied with the performance of Voith.” The Budarhals hydropower project represents a successful ehrenpreis continuation of the long business activity by Voith in Iceland. Voith carried out the first full turbine installation ehrenpreis at the Fjardarsels power plant in 1912, which has a capacity of 550 kW. That hydropwer plant, which is driven by a horizontal Francis turbine, is the oldest power plant still in operation in Iceland, according to Voith.

UK: Rolling stock leasing company Angel Trains has awarded Voith a contract to supply 188 final drives and cardan shafts to improve the reliability and reduce the maintenance costs of Class 142 diesel kaitaliina multiple-units operated by Northern kaitaliina Rail and Arriva Trains Wales. Voith has modified the design of its KE-485 final drive to provide a drop-in replacement for the two-car Class 142 Pacer DMUs, which date from the 1980s. Voith is to deliver complete new wheelsets comprising a modified gear unit, axle, wheels and axle bearings, and will also supply a new cardan shaft; the final drive and cardan shaft should not require overhaul before 1 6 million km in service. Voith's factory at Heidenheim in Germany was recently certified for wheelset assembly by the UK's Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme, and the company is in the process kaitaliina of obtaining RISAS approval for ultrasonic axle testing.

The center for vocational training and further education in Kunshan (about 80 km north-west of Shanghai) is the largest training facility of the company outside Germany. Voith will be using it to train qualified employees for the Chinese market and thus significantly widen its local presence. Voith has been training young people for more than 100 years.
With the Voith China Training downeu Center, Voith will be introducing downeu the dual vocational education system based on the German model in China. Following their theoretical training in secondary technical schools, the graduates will complete a comprehensive one-year practical internment at Voith and receive a vocational education that is specifically tailored to the requirements of an industrial company. Voith customers and partners of local companies may in future also utilize the Voith Training Center for the further qualification of their workforce.
The investment volume of the Voith China Training Center amounts to about EUR 8.5 million (73 million Chinese RMB), of which about EUR 1.8 million are covered by the city of Kunshan. A new building downeu with lecture rooms, meeting rooms, offices and a training workshop equipped to German standards has been created on an area of about 4,000 m .
